8:34 on Saturday Night

8:34 pm on the Saturday before Easter. Where were you?

Really? Well, we were at the National Center for Behavioral Genomics. Wowie zowie. Aren't you jealous?
To take revenge on Shawn for bringing me to the lab, I decided to document our trip.
Hmmm interesting.

Let's hold that up to the light. Intriguing.

I'm pretty sure this is a torture device.

Best for last...

Newport

There was a break in the weather, so Shawn and I took a quick trip to Newport over Easter weekend. It was nice to be able to walk around and park without the summer crowds...or prices!

This is our new summer house. Will you come and visit?

Not awful awful. Yummy yummy!

Maine with Meg

We were very excited and long overdue for a trip to Maine to visit Meg. In our typical style, everything came together at the last minute and Shawn, Chris and I made our way up to Portland.

PUPPY! One of the reasons we were exited for the trip was Sydney! Sydney is Meg's puppy. She is a black lab and cocker spaniel mix that was rescued in Puerto Rico. Sydney and I bonded on Saturday while Meg worked and the boys skied. It quickly became evident that Sydney and I have the same skill level when attempting to run in a straight line...absolutely none. It's miracle enough when I manage to run for more than a minute without tripping over my own feet. But to have a puppy weaving in and out of my legs was quite the challenge. I'm happy to report that there were no injuries. Here are some post-run pics of the pup. We were both a little tuckered out.

Meg took us to the beach in South Portland on Sunday. It was about 400 degrees below zero (with wind chill factored in). But was well worth it because Sydney played her first game of catch with Meg!

Cape Cold

I forgot to post pictures from our Cape trip. These are some pictures from a very chilly Sunday.
This is my new dream vehicle!
Here we are freezing in front of Wychmere. Good thing we didn't get married in March!

Air Mattresses are Glamorous

Don't you love how tv shows make everyone so glamorous when they wake up? The I have news for the producers, that's just not true. Here are some pictures my lovely Dad took while waking us up. Thanks Dad. It's really nice to wake up with a camera in your face. Apparently my Dad is training for his future career as a paparazzo. Don't make me go all Britney Spears on you!

Helllllooooooo Missionaries!

This weekend, Shawn and I spent 13 hours of straight bonding time with Amy, Jared and James. It was fabulous and I'll tell you why.

1. Donuts. The day began with yummy, happy, delicious donuts.

Donuts

2. James is cute. We read a lovely book about sharks and, without prompting, he thanked me for reading it at the end of the night. James, if I had any money, I would have bought you something very nice for that. But I don't so please consider that donut a gift.

3. Shawn secured an open invitation to Jared and Amy's house so he can mooch during ski season. Amy and Jared - You are always welcome to join us at our condo. We have many fine accommodations including the couch and floor.

4. I touched shrimp. They were raw and unprepared. Did you know you have to take their shells and legs off? Did you know they have "poop shoots"? That's the technical term Jared used.

5. We had dinner with two Mormon missionaries: Elder Powell and Elder Sato . They are both somewhere around 20 years old and were hilarious. Elder Powell is an absolute frat boy minus the beer. Elder Sato is just super cute. Just for the record, those name tags are handy dandy because I actually remember their names!
