I'm Saaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiling!

Last weekend, the Boston Sailing Center offered free cruises on the harbor. The sign up was first come, first serve. There was a wait but in the meantime, the Center provided free beverages on the water. Not too shabby! Watching the other boats.
Shawn very much enjoying his free drink.
Don't worry. I was just red from the heat. Not from the sun. We were covered in spf.

Relaxing with the Boston skyline in the back.
Here's the boat and we're ready to cruise.
It was really a perfect day. The weather was picture perfect.

I'm saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiling!!!
Shawn being the expert crew member.

It doesn't really come across in the pictures but that guy was definitely a pirate in a past life.

DC Trip 2

Here we are, ready to start our tour of DC. Kristin and Randy were awesome hosts and tour guides. They are in the back and front. Joe and Karen are in the middle.

First glimpse of the Lincoln Memorial.

There he is.
I wonder if Abe wishes he had a Lazy Boy by now.
Shawn and Abe.

Washington Monument and reflection.

Korean War Memorial.
Cherry blossoms and the Monument.
I enjoy park rangers. I also enjoy mascots. I really, really, really enjoy a photo op with a mascot and a park ranger. That is Paddles the beaver on the left. Apparently, he is in some sort of rehab for chewing all of the cherry blossoms and is required to do a little community service. That is a park ranger on the right. He was there to take visitors' pictures with Paddles. No thanks. I wanted him in the picture and made Shawn stand behind the lens instead. :)
Right in front of the Jefferson Memorial, we ran into James. We went to Fairfield together and he lives in Rhode Island. Needless to say, I was a little surprised when we bumped into each other. We took this picture to make Josh just a little jealous.
Are you jellin' Jefferson?
The Leaning Tower of DC. No puppy sightings. :(
JFK.

Dream Time

I've had some serious allergies kicking up lately. In some ways, I've actually been benefiting from them. Usually, I flip and flop all night long. But not during the past week. I have been out cold. This has also allowed my brain plenty of time to dream.

What did my brain choose to dream about?
That's right. Hugh Jackman. Did he decide to come sweep me off my feet or maybe ask me to accompany him on the red carpet? Nope. Not even close. He remodeled our bathroom. He didn't even take off his shirt to do it. Bummer. But Shawn and I were both very happy with his carpentry. Next time I'll check and see if he works in your neighborhood.
