Do you remember this? It's been stuck in my head for the last 20 years. I was singing this over and over for Shawn and Chris on the way to New Jersey. I'm pretty sure they thought I made it up but here's some proof.

Labor Day Weekend 2

I know Labor Day Weekend was a long time ago. But I have catching up to do!

I absolutely love that Wellfleet saves its fireworks for Labor Day Weekend. There are so many fireworks around the 4th of July. It doesn't seem right that we have to wait until New Year's Eve!

We arrived super early so we started playing around with the shutter speed.

Finally the fireworks started. They were great but the camera ran out of charge after these two pics!

We finished the weekend in Hyannisport with Spanky's for dinner and a pretty sunset for dessert.

Labor Day Weekend 1

We took the quick trail up at the Pamet area in Truro. The walk is extremely easy and the view is extremely beautiful!
Here's our future beach house. You'll all be invited over.

Then we headed to Cahoon Hallow Beach to enjoy the view. The beach was nice and quiet because the Labor Day crowds had yet to arrive.




Alright, alright. We weren't there for the view alone. We were there for the Beachcomber! Mom and Dad made this place a legend in my head (all the yoots having too much fun) and it doesn't disappoint!

Franconia Notch 3

In NH, we stayed at the Littleton KOA. Since it was our anniversary, we splurged and rented the one room cabin. It rained for a good portion of the trip and that decision really paid off.The campground is situated on a little river which provides a really relaxing environment.
Here is the front of the cabin. Each one has a fire pit, picnic table, covered porch and swing.

This is the inside of the cabin. It was really clean. In fact, the whole campground was exceptionally clean. The bathrooms were spotless!

It had a full bed and two bunks along with a little desk and bench.
I would definitely recommend this campground. The hosts were really nice and so were other campers. Retirees Ray and June were the funniest by far. Ray could talk to a wall and probably wouldn't mind it. We learned all about June's heart attack which spurred their cross country RV extravaganza and almost everything about the state of NH. They're probably finishing up the southern leg of their journey by now. Keep it up Ray and June!
In the town of Littleton, there is a candy store named Chutters. It boasts the world's largest candy counter. That was a sight I was not willing to pass up.

This only shows part of the candy counter. It was long and delicious.
We stopped at Polly's Pancake Parlor on the way out of town. There was quite a wait but it was well worth it. We stuffed ourselves with pancakes and maple products. The servers even bring your pancakes in shifts so they don't get cold! I'm pretty sure we could have just rolled all the way home.

Franconia Notch 2

We headed down the road to the basin.
There were signs everywhere saying to stay off the rocks. I looked down for a second to get the camera and where was Shawn? On the rocks.

This is the basin. The granite has been smoothed by small stones and sand whirled around by the Pemigewasset River.

Next up was the flume. I half expected to board a log canoe and head down one of those amusement park water rides.

The loop trail to the flume is a couple miles and at times is a little tougher than anticipated. But it is nice and relaxing if you take your time.
This is where you begin to enter the flume. The Flume is a natural gorge extending 800 feet in length. The granite walls rise to a height of 70 to 90 feet and are 12 to 20 feet apart.
