Penobscot Bridge and Fort Knox

Jared and Amy told us to stop at the Penobscot Bridge and Fort Knox. It was a great stop to break up the trip.
There was a plethora of signage...if you wanted to read it. I took a picture instead.View up at the bridge. View down.

Pointing to our destination, Acadia.No, no. It's not that Fort Knox. Fort Knox in Maine...America's First Fort Knox.


Don't worry, the fort is protected by an electronic alarm system. Doesn't something just seem wrong about that?

I'm pretty sure forts are supposed to keep people from coming in. But it took us about 10 minutes to figure out how to get out!
