DC Trip 2

Here we are, ready to start our tour of DC. Kristin and Randy were awesome hosts and tour guides. They are in the back and front. Joe and Karen are in the middle.

First glimpse of the Lincoln Memorial.

There he is.
I wonder if Abe wishes he had a Lazy Boy by now.
Shawn and Abe.

Washington Monument and reflection.

Korean War Memorial.
Cherry blossoms and the Monument.
I enjoy park rangers. I also enjoy mascots. I really, really, really enjoy a photo op with a mascot and a park ranger. That is Paddles the beaver on the left. Apparently, he is in some sort of rehab for chewing all of the cherry blossoms and is required to do a little community service. That is a park ranger on the right. He was there to take visitors' pictures with Paddles. No thanks. I wanted him in the picture and made Shawn stand behind the lens instead. :)
Right in front of the Jefferson Memorial, we ran into James. We went to Fairfield together and he lives in Rhode Island. Needless to say, I was a little surprised when we bumped into each other. We took this picture to make Josh just a little jealous.
Are you jellin' Jefferson?
The Leaning Tower of DC. No puppy sightings. :(
JFK.

The view from Arlington National Cemetary.

Your pictures of the monuments and gravesite are very moving. And Paddles and the ranger..just plain funny.

Looks like Joe wore a Red Sox shirt and Randy sported a Yankee cap. Good choice, Joe!!! Great photos-looks like everyone had a terrific time! Mom

True. Kristin must really love Randy to overlook the Yankees thing.
