I was standing directly by the mile 8 marker. The men above were clocking in around 52 minutes. That translates into 6.5 minute miles. That's what I mean by freakazoid.
Then came the onslaught. It was as though someone had opened the flood gates and let a raging river of runners free! I've only watched the marathon from downtown and the runners have more separation at that point. I had no concept of how immense and dense the pack would be in Natick.
Hmmm. I'm a little thirsty. Anyone know where I can get some Gatorade?
Nice hand-off!
This lady was spunky. I have a feeling she has these pom-poms for the sole purpose of cheering on marathon runners every year. Awesome.

Sometimes that route it faster on foot.(not mine of course)
Maybe they allow piggy back rides in the marathon?
Nice pictures! Andrew is running in Memphis Saturday AM -- I told him if he runs Boston, he would have a large cheering section near your place. Hope you enjoyed it.
Thanks for posting the great photos! What a nice day to watch the marathon. Mom & Dad L.
