This was Shawn's first year as a competitor. He played well and demonstrated great effort. However, his weaknesses are sill evident. Here you can see that I nudged him out using tush defense.

Christmas Race
Here is a little photo documentary on our annual Christmas competition: the race for the pickle ornament! It is a fierce and fast competition. What's at stake? A bonus prize and glory.

High or low? Which way to go?

Since we switched to a fake tree, the competition difficulty and duration has greatly increased. The judges like to bend the branches and completely camouflage the pickle.

Complete possession must be demonstrated before a winner is declared. Here you can see my clean exit from the tree area and use of two hands for maximum stability.
Victory is mine!

what's the prize? it looks like it must be good.
I heard about the 2nd place prize not being too shabby!
Yeah, Mom rigs the competition so "we're all winners". Whatever! I crush the competition every year!
Congratulations, Kel!~ I'm already thinking about cool pickle prizes for next year! Mom
